FKPM is engaged towards quality, safety and affordable medicine products by jointly working with the developing partners. FKPM anchors the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) program and today, all the Member Companies of FKPM manufacture almost all essential medicines locally ensure every citizen has quality, safe and affordable medicines locally. In last 10 years, FKPM members have done investments worth USD 150 million in infrastructure, market developments, related to quality related activities. These make Kenya a pharma manufacturing hub in Africa. The Kenya pharma industry is increasing at the growth rate of 9% per annum. The Kenya pharma industry has generated 20,000 diverse jobs especially for highly and semi-skilled professionals. Kenya has access to the market of more than 700 million people in the EAC. In next five years, we expect the Kenya pharma industry will be exporting USD 700 mn pharma products.
